The news, summarised sarcastically

So you don't have to doomscroll it yourself. You will anyway. We know. Five flavours, one antidote: something reliably true in the present, at the end of every post.

ai weekly

AI now writes your emails; worry still artisanal

This week, three more tools promised to automate everything you do at work. Notably absent from every launch page: automation for the 3am ceiling-staring session about whether the tools will automate you. Worrying remains the last fully handcrafted industry.

Still true right now: your inbox cannot see you.

social recap

This week on social media: everyone is doing amazing, loudly

Recap: four people you barely know launched something, two announced exits, and an account with a sunset avatar told you to grind harder. You scrolled this in bed. Comparison was delivered to you, on schedule, for free.

Still true right now: nobody posts their Tuesday afternoons.

founder diary

Week 3: I built a calm app and shipped it anxiously

Founder diary, unfiltered: I spent Tuesday adjusting the breathing animation's timing while my own breathing was, charitably, unreviewed. The irony is documented, versioned, and MIT licensed. Then I did my own 5-4-3-2-1 and the app's best feature turned out to be the part where you stop using it. Keeping that in.

Still true right now: the repo is public and so is the anxiety.

drop notes

Drop 001 is live: "I have AI anxiety"

Fifty caps, one confession. Also mugs, totes, a tee, and a poster that says breathe. it's open source. When it sells out we will not restock, because scarcity is the only marketing joke we can make with a straight face. The drop is here.

Still true right now: you don't need a cap to be present. It helps zero percent. It's a great cap.

news digest

Markets uncertain, say people paid to be certain about markets

Economists announced that the future is unclear, a finding they will announce again next quarter with equal surprise. Meanwhile the chair you're sitting on has remained 100% load-bearing all week. One of these facts is tradeable. Sit on the other one.

Still true right now: gravity, chair, you.

news digest

Study finds staring at the news does not fix the news

Researchers confirmed that refreshing a feed 40 times per hour has no measurable effect on geopolitics, but a robust effect on you. In related findings, birds are still outside, entirely unbriefed on current events, and doing great.

Still true right now: the ten-minute walk counts. (That's the Movement toggle.)

Demo content — this is the tone and the taxonomy, not a live feed. The five post types: ai weekly (the week in AI, de-catastrophised), social recap (what the feeds did to us), news digest (world events, sarcastically compressed), founder diary (building this, anxiously, in public) and drop notes (shop announcements). Every post ends with one thing that is reliably still true in the present.
